P.O.D Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
I was hiking through the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico when I came across this place. I never approached the woman to see if this was some kind of store or if it was her home. The yard around it was quite littered with trash and I was quite surprised to see someone. I snapped a few photos and went about my way. From the smile on the ladies face, I guessing she didn't mind me taking her portrait.

Rock Dox - John Dickey
Meet the front man of the band, lead singer, John Dickey. His is the chameleon voice that delivers AC/DC to Journey and everything in between. He is the energy of the music - whether it’s that seductive scat from Jim Morrison of the Doors or the ear-piercing screech from David Lee Roth of Van Halen.

Rock Dox - Rich Newland
The Drummers are usually the craziest of them all and that stands true for my friend Richie. He generates the thump you feel in your chest, the bang in your head, the punch in your heart. This guy hits ‘em hard and he’s got the broken lumber to prove it. Surrounded by a sea of cymbals, he’s the rock in rock and roll. Rich says every member brings life to the music. “The magic is the diversity of the band and the music. We’re loud and aggressive, we have a good time, and we give 200%.

ROCK N ROLL

Painting with light will be a series of images that I have taken at night and have painted with light. Often times the image is composed of several exposures or even several images. What's the difference? For what I am doing I consider an exposure a pop of a flash or other light source (several per image) while the shutter is left open. Several images would be just that combined into one image.

Rock Dox - Hank Ford
September 9, 2008

Catch the Rock Dox at the Connection in Presque Isle on September 26 & 27 from 9pm - 1am
Here is another good friend and the Doctor in the Rock Dox, Dr. Hank Ford. Dr. Ford, leader of the band and one of the founding fathers of the Rock Dox, is the only original member still with the band. On bass he is responsible for the grumble of rumble that is the core foundation of the band’s low end. He’s half of the energy that keeps the sweat pouring, the toes tapping and our blood pumping through the pounding Rock Dox groove. Hank says the Rock Dox’s music is all about chemistry and communication. “It’s a combination of people together looking for a common sound,” he said during a recent interview. “Some songs, like We Go On, are really representative of what we loved to listen to - music with lyrics that make sense, with harmony, guitar, chorus - all together in a sound that works.” Hank also is a co-owner of Slopes Restaurant, which is a micro-brewery.

P.O.D
On Saturday Lynn and I took a ride up to Greenville for the Seaplane Fly In. The forcast was for rain, but overcast skies won out. We watched the planes come and go and I never took a shot. The planes were too far off from where we were and the sky was just gray, they would have been crap.
Never the less I found other things to photograph.

These flowers looked cool with the dark sky behind them.

Rock Dox - Brian Mosher
Brian Mosher is what the band calls the icing on the cake, the ribbon on the package, He's the sexy one. His solid rhythm guitar and fancy finger work on the keyboards takes the Rock Dox to a new dimension. Brian describes their music as an antidote for those that miss rock and roll, miss guitar solos, miss the melodic sound of Journey to the grumble of AC/DC. “We’re bringing back the rock-and-roll that we all loved. We’re a party band that does what few do anymore, and we know it works.” Brian lives in Presque Isle with his wife and three kids. He describes his first love as writing music. Oh Yeah He's the sexy one! Did I mention that? He told me to say it!
I make fun of Brian cause I can, but seriously, he made me say it.

P.O.D. Lighthouses
Are any of you Lighthouse Fans? I think they are great. I am working on photographing all the lighthouses in Maine. I'm trying for the ones that are off shore first, but it's not always nice enough weather to fly in a small plane that far out.

Rock Dox - Greg Beidelman
September 5, 2008

Todays photo of the day is my good friend and guitar legend Greg Beidelman of the Rock Dox. Greg is the magic man on the guitar. If you’ve never seen Eddie play Eruption, this is as close as it gets. Whether he’s screaming leads furiously through his Marshall Stack or just filling the room with the sweet tone we know as rock and roll. Greg says the Rock Dox know how to give the crowd what they want. “Our music has a classic rock influence,” Greg explained. “We’re not ground-breaking, we just stick to the basics and keep the good rock and roll alive.”

P.O.D. - Photo of the Day
September 4, 2008
Here are a couple more for you.

You can see this one live and in person at Woodmen's Bar and Grill in Orono
Now with this one I used all my skill and talent to pull of a really cool image.

Not really! I was just standing there and saw this awesome sight just appear before my eyes. It was gone within five minutes. I had all I could do to set up, compose and shoot and it was over!

Nature on North Haven

Can anyone tell me what kind of flower this is?

Black Eye Susan.

Rope and Rocks.
Am I amazing you with my knowledge? By the way the top flower is a wild white rose. The rope and rocks are a display upstairs in Calderwood Hall.

P.O.D Boy Scout Island
September 1, 2008
September already, can you believe it. Where did the summer go.
Here is the crew on the "Sandbar" (I don't know where the sand was). Left to right are: Tyler, David, Renee, Ann, Laura, Chris, Lynn and Myself. David belongs to Ann, Tyler and Laura belong to David and Renee, Chris...Well Chris was there too, and I belong to Lynn (and she to me).
We took our lives in our hands this day so that we could witness the sunset from Boyscout Island. This meant hoping that the tide would not come back in and strand us there or that we would break our necks heading back to North Haven in the dark.

We saw Jiminy Cricket on the way to Boy Scout Island.

The gang in front of Boyscout Island at low tide ofcourse.

The Sunset.
