POD - Abandoned Places

Abandoned buildings can be a lot of fun to explore and contain a wealth of photo opts too! Caution must be taken as most of these places are usually half fallen down and your weight might just bring the other half down....now that would bring a damper to your day! Anyway the next few images were taken in an old abandoned house I stumbled upon while out driving.

POD - Miscellaneous

On Halloween the great pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch and gives toys to all the kids that believe in him....anyone think that maybe Charlie Brown was on drugs?

POD - Miscellaneous

In Case you are wondering, POD stands for Photo of the Day!

Sunflowers and Farms go great together! The rich blue sky was just a bonus with not a cloud in sight. I think I should call this shot season of wither!

Kids Play

Most people think of portraits as studio shots in our sunday best, but that doesn't always need to be the case. Capturing your kids being themselves can also make for a fine portrait. With the right location, lighting, composition and play wear, a master piece can be created that you will cherish for years to come. If you would like to book your childs portrait you can contact me through my website at: www.garysoucy.com

Family Portraits

This is a great time of year for outdoor family portraits where the world is your studio. You can find "sets" everywhere. I have even had my subject in a medium strip surrounded with wild flowers. I took these family portraits last month at one of my favorite spots. If you would like to book a family portrait you can contact me through my website at: www.garysoucy.com

POD - Mt Katahdin

Man is born to die,
His works are short-lived.
Buildings crumble,
Monuments decay,
Wealth vanishes.
But Katahdin in all its glory,
Forever shall remain
The Mountain Of
The People of Maine.

Henry David Thoreau.

POD - Sunrise Near Baxter State Park

My friend and I head to Mt Katahdin in hopes to get some sunrise photos and maybe even get graced with some moose photos. Unfortunately for us the gate to the park doesn't open till after sunrise, so we seek out a place outside the park. We spotted this place through a little opening in the trees and hauled on the brakes. No sooner did we get set up and shoot and the sun was up and the scene was gone.
